How We Work
From Digital File to Collectible Statue
Every piece that leaves Hero Craft 3D undergoes a precise, controlled, and artisanal process. We do not mass-produce. Each statue is a project in itself, with its own history, technical challenges, and creative solution.
1. Modeling and File Preparation
It all starts with the STL file — the digital three-dimensional model. We use or acquire high-resolution polygonal models, which are then optimized for printing: orientation in space, addition of supports, subdivision into parts to ensure maximum quality on each section.
This phase is critical: a poorly prepared file produces defects that no post-production can correct.
2. Choice of Printing Technology
Based on the complexity of the subject and the level of detail required, we choose the most suitable technology:
- SLA (Stereolithography) — UV laser that polymerizes liquid resin point by point. Extreme detail, smooth surfaces, ideal for faces and complex anatomies. Resolution up to 25 microns.
- MSLA (Masked SLA) — LCD screen that masks UV light layer by layer. High resolution, faster times, excellent for medium-sized pieces.
- MJF (Multi Jet Fusion) — nylon powder technology fused by chemical agents and heat. For structurally complex projects requiring high mechanical resistance.
3. Printing and Quality Control
During printing, we monitor every layer. At the end, the piece is carefully extracted, washed in isopropyl alcohol to remove unpolymerized resin, and subjected to UV post-curing to complete polymerization and maximize hardness.
Each piece is visually and tactilely inspected before proceeding.
4. Sanding and Assembly
Post-production is where the piece comes to life. Progressive sanding with abrasive papers from 200 to 2000 grit, filling visible layers, assembling parts with two-component resin or internal magnets for removable pieces.
This phase requires hours of manual labor for each statue.
5. Finishing and Painting (on request)
For painted versions, each statue is first treated with gray primer to highlight any residual imperfections. Then, hand painting proceeds with brush and airbrush: base coat, shading, highlights, metallic effects, washes for recesses, pigments for textures.
The final result is a statue that stands comparison with premium market productions.
Limited Editions: Maximum 5 Copies
Each subject is produced in a maximum of 5 numbered copies. This is not a marketing choice — it is an ethical choice towards collectors. A collectible piece must be rare to have value.
Each copy is delivered with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
